Studying health in France means joining a rigorous, internationally recognized education system open to international students under certain conditions. These studies are highly selective but offer early hospital experience, strong academic support, and excellent job prospects in France, Tunisia, and beyond.
PASS (Specific Health Access Pathway) :<br> A one-year university program focused on health subjects with an additional minor. Very selective, it allows access to the second year of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, or midwifery.
L.AS (Bachelor’s Degree with Health Option) :<br> A standard bachelor’s program (e.g., in science or law) with an optional health focus. It allows students to apply to the second year of medical studies while pursuing another academic discipline.
Beyond the university system (PASS and L.AS), Tunisian students can also apply to paramedical training programs in both public and private institutions. These include physiotherapy, nursing, occupational therapy, and psychomotricity. They are often highly competitive and may require an entrance exam or application, with or without a preparatory year, depending on the school.
Admission to health studies in France is very selective, especially for international applicants. You must have an excellent academic record, particularly in science subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, and math.
To apply for the first year (PASS or L.AS), Tunisian Baccalauréat holders must go through the DAP procedure (Demande d’Admission Préalable) on the Études en France – Campus France Tunisia platform.
This is mandatory for all first-year public university applications. Students with a French Baccalauréat (including from French high schools abroad) must apply through Parcoursup.
